Suite 1742 – Bed-in for peace
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Design and manufacturing of electronic installations and interactive objects for MASSIVart’s project, in homage to the bed-in of Yoko Ono and John Lennon. This historical event for peace took place in the mythical suite 1742 of Queen Elizabeth Hotel, in Montréal, in 1969. In association with SIDLEE collective, the customer experience of the suite was rethought in the form of an artistic and historic path through the integration of archive documents, to put the visitors into the atmosphere of this famous action for peace. Manufacturing and electronic design of an interactive piece of furniture, with the integration of video, sound track and document from archives. Conception and diversion of the electronics for a vintage tape recorder and a telephone which broadcast, at their activation, discussions between John Lennon, Yoko Ono and the journalists who interview them in 1969.
